She allows her clients to focus on their expertise in themselves, while bringing in her expertise from the field.
As a woman herself, Dr. Cannon recognizes the specific mental health needs of women in our society today. The challenges that women face in both their personal and professional lives is something she both relates to and seeks to better understand. She values the opportunity to work with women of all ages, from adolescence through later life, and specializes in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, fertility issues, eating disorders and associated mood disregulation. She has specific experience working with adolescent girls both in and out of the school setting.
Though unable to relate to men in the exact same way, Dr. Cannon recognizes the varied challenges affecting men and likewise enjoys the opportunity to work with the various mental health issues most pertinent to them. These may be issues associated with mood disregulation, ADD/ADHD, life balance, anger management, and the like.
And while individual therapy options are always available, Dr. Cannon also provides couples and family therapy options for those requiring a more family-systems based approach.
